TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Wherever used herein, the term “bike” shall include any bicycle, cargo bike or rickshaw rented from Family Bike. Family Bike, its agents, servants, and employees shall not be responsible for personal injuries or property damage, loss or delay incurred by any person arising out of the act of negligence of any direct or supplemental carrier or other person rendering any of the services or products being offered in these rentals; nor shall Family Bike be responsible for any injuries, damage, loss or delay in any means of transportation or by reasons of any event beyond the actual control of Family Bike, or of any agent or supplier, or due to force majeure. Renters follow any suggested itinerary at their own risk and agree not to hold Family Bike or Guide Tours responsible for injury resulting from accidents. We strongly recommend the use of our safety approved helmets. The rental bikes are in satisfactory operating condition and participants agree to use them at their own risk or call deficiencies to the attention of a Family Bike representative within 30 minutes after leaving the garage. Individual bike specifications are subject to change based on availability of replacement components. Instruction in the use of bikes will not be provided and participants affirm that they are competent and familiar with the use of a multi-speed bicycle and Danish traffic rules and laws.
PICK-UPS AND RETURNS
Bikes can be picked up by appointment from 9 AM at Family Bike's garage in Copenhagen and returned by appointment until 6 PM.
DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
A Family Bike employee can deliver bikes to any address or hotel in central Copenhagen for DKK 250,00 per bike and also collect in central Copenhagen for DKK 250,00 per bike. Delivery and collection up to 3 km from Nyhavn, Copenhagen costs DKK 350,00 each way and up to 4 km from Nyhavn costs DKK 450,00. For delivery and/or collection further out of Copenhagen, please contact Family Bike to get a price. All collections have to be approved by Family Bike by email or text message to count as a returned bike.
RESPONSIBILITY
The renter must always check if a bike has any deficiencies and communicate this to Family Bike within 30 minutes of picking up a bike. You can call +45 7179 2030 or write an email to [email protected].

RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS
Customer agrees to return the equipment in the same good condition as when received, (ordinary wear and tear accepted), and to repair and replace lost or stolen, damaged or broken bikes or parts or to reimburse Family Bike for said equipment. Therefore regardless of the party at fault, customer understands and agrees to be responsible for the theft or damage to said equipment.

3RD PARTY USER
Renter understands and agrees that if there is a 3rd party using a rented Family Bike, renter must make sure the 3rd party has read and understood these terms and conditions. Even so, it is the renter who is fully responsible for the bike.
CUSTOMER LIABILITY
Renter or 3rd party user shall assume liability for any and all damage or loss of and to personal property, accident / injury to other persons related to the usage of the rental bike.
SAFETY
All cargo bikes and rickshaws have at least one seat belt. It's mandatory for kids to use a seat belt in a cargo bike.
Helmets are not mandatory, but we recommend wearing a helmet and we have all sizes for rent.
For safety reasons our bikes are normally not rented out in freezing weather. Gears and locks might not work properly in extreme cold weather.
No matter the weather, renter agrees to take full responsibility for renter's own and others' safety. Any injury to renter or others, or damage to the bike or it's functions caused by the renter or a 3rd party, is solely renter's responsibility.

PERSONAL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that you always carry a personal or travel insurance policy.
THEFT & DAMAGE INSURANCE
You may pay an additional Theft & Damage insurance fee of DKK 500,00 per bike (items included) which, in case of theft or crash damage to the bike and/or parts and/or items, will reduce the compensation amount by half. In case of theft, a formal Police Report must be lodged and a copy must be forwarded to Family Bike in order to activate the insurance. In case of damage, a photo must be provided to us.

Any part not listed above can vary in price or the damage has to be evaluated by a mechanic designated by Family Bike.
If a Family Bike employee spends time on any issue with a bike due to rider's use or misuse, the price is DKK 300 per 15 minutes (bike parts not included). Renter must also pay for any time a Family Bike employee spends on travelling to and from the location of the bike of concern.

PAYMENT
Rentals are prepaid or paid upon picking up a bike.
If you choose Family Bike's extra insurance, the Theft & Damage Insurance is paid together with the rent.
You may be asked to pay DKK 100,00 as a non-refundable booking fee and the rest upon picking up the bike.
The Security Deposit is also paid upon picking up a bike.
Family Bike accepts all credit cards, bank transfers, cash (Danish kroner or euros) and Danish/Norwegian Vipps Mobilepay.
There is a DKK 75,00 bank transfer fee for foreign bank transfers to our Danish account.
Credit card prepayments can be done via a secure payment link.
Bike rentals ending early are not eligible for a refund.

DOG FEE
There is an extra fee of DKK 150 for using a cargo bike or rickshaw for a dog of any size.
If the fee has not been paid together with the rent, Family Bike will charge an extra DKK 100 in administration fee when the bike is returned.
DKK 250 will be deducted from the security deposit.

EVENT FEE
There is an extra fee of DKK 375 for renting a cargo bike or rickshaw for a festival, procession, street party, street race, distribution of products, as well as for brand foiling for various company events or covering Family Bike's logos in any way. The fee includes extra cleaning, removal of balloons, stickers etc. The event fee can also be charged as a cleaning fee, if a bike needs extra cleaning of e.g. liquids, food, glitter, sand, vomit, animal hair etc.
RETURNS
All bikes must be returned directly to Family Bike or wherever agreed upon in writing.
LATE RETURN FEE
An additional day’s rental fee will be charged for each day the customer keeps a bike after the agreed return time or after 6 PM.
